Code of Ethics

Effective Date: April 14, 2026
Last Updated: April 14, 2026

Atlantic Computer Services (“ACS”) is a division of Intracoastal Information Services, Inc. We provide managed IT services to small and mid-size businesses in the Wilmington, NC area. Our reputation is built on doing business the right way — and this Code of Ethics defines what that means in practice.

Our Commitment

We believe technology should help your business grow, not hold it back. That belief extends beyond technical competence to how we conduct ourselves as a company. Every client interaction, recommendation, and business decision is guided by these principles.

Honesty and Transparency
  • We provide honest assessments of your technology environment, even when the answer is “what you have is working fine.”
  • We will not recommend products, services, or hardware replacements you do not need.
  • Our pricing is published and straightforward. We do not use hidden fees, surprise invoices, or bait-and-switch tactics.
  • When we make a mistake, we own it, correct it, and learn from it.

Client Confidentiality
  • We treat all client data, systems, credentials, and business information as confidential.
  • Access to client environments is limited to authorized ACS personnel who need it to perform their work.
  • We do not share, sell, or disclose client information to third parties except as required to deliver our services or comply with legal obligations.
  • When a client relationship ends, we cooperate fully with the transition and do not withhold access, documentation, or credentials.

Conflicts of Interest
  • We disclose any relationships with vendors or partners that could influence our recommendations.
  • Product and service recommendations are based on what is right for the client, not on commission structures or vendor incentives.
  • If a conflict of interest arises, we disclose it and work with the client to determine the best path forward.

Fair Dealing
  • We compete on the quality of our work and the strength of our relationships, not by disparaging competitors.
  • We honor our commitments. If we say we will do something, we follow through.
  • We communicate clearly and without jargon. Our clients should always understand what is happening with their technology and why.

Security and Responsible Access
  • We maintain administrative access to client systems solely for the purpose of delivering contracted services.
  • All ACS personnel follow documented security practices including multi-factor authentication, encrypted credential storage, and least-privilege access principles.
  • We report security incidents promptly and work with affected clients to contain and resolve them.
  • We do not access client data beyond what is necessary to diagnose and resolve the issue at hand.

Professional Conduct
  • Every member of our team treats clients, vendors, and colleagues with respect.
  • We invest in ongoing training and development to maintain the technical expertise our clients depend on.
  • We do not misrepresent our qualifications, certifications, or capabilities.

Compliance
  • We comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • For clients in regulated industries, we support compliance efforts with appropriate tooling, documentation, and guidance — and we are transparent about the boundaries of our role versus that of a licensed auditor or assessor.

Reporting Concerns

If you believe ACS or any member of our team has acted in a way that conflicts with this Code of Ethics, we want to hear about it.
